Who we are

Is It A Scam? is an iOS app developed by Mintaka Media Group Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). Our contact email is isitascam2@pm.me.

What data we process — and what happens to it

Messages you submit for analysis

When you tap "Check for Scam," your message text (or the image you submit) is sent over HTTPS to our analysis proxy hosted on Cloudflare Workers, which forwards the request to Anthropic's Claude AI. Anthropic returns a structured analysis (a verdict, confidence score, list of red flags, and a recommendation). We pass that analysis back to your device.

We do not log, store, or retain the message content on our servers. The analysis result is stored locally on your device only, in your scan history, until you delete it.

Per Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service, content sent through their API is not used to train Anthropic's models.

Photos and screenshots you choose

If you use the "Take a Photo" or "Pick a Screenshot" features, your iPhone will ask permission to access the camera or photo library. We only access the specific photo you select — never your entire library. The selected photo is sent to the same analysis proxy described above, then discarded after analysis. We do not store your photos on our servers.

Subscription and purchase data

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat (a third-party subscription management platform) to verify entitlement status. Apple shares with us your anonymized purchase identifier so we can confirm you're a paying member, but we don't see your name, email, or payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to the purchase itself.

Email correspondence

If you email us at isitascam2@pm.me, we keep your message and reply for support purposes. We don't add you to any marketing list. We don't share your email with anyone.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us what data we hold about you, to ask us to delete it, and to ask us to correct it. To exercise these rights, email us at isitascam2@pm.me. We respond within 30 days.

If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, you have additional rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR including the right to data portability, the right to object to processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you're a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information. We don't sell personal information.

Children's privacy

Is It A Scam? is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, contact us and we'll delete any related data.

Security

All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or higher). Our analysis proxy runs on Cloudflare Workers, which uses industry-standard encryption and DDoS protection. We don't store sensitive data on our servers, which limits the impact of any potential breach.

Third-party services we use

International transfers

If you're outside the US, your data (limited as it is) may be processed in the US by the third-party services listed above. We use providers that comply with applicable cross-border data transfer requirements.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if we add new features or our practices change. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the app after a policy update means you accept the updated policy.
