Reconstitution is just arithmetic once you know your three inputs. The tool applies the relationships below to whatever numbers you type.

Concentration (mg/mL) = Peptide in vial (mg) รท Water added (mL)
Volume per dose (mL) = Dose (mg) รท Concentration (mg/mL)
Units to draw = Volume per dose (mL) ร— 100  (because a U-100 syringe = 100 units per mL)
Doses per vial = Peptide in vial (mg) รท Dose (mg)

Why 100 units per mL? A standard U-100 insulin syringe is graduated so that the full 1 mL barrel reads as 100 units. Each unit therefore equals 0.01 mL. That is why "units" and "mL" are interchangeable once you multiply or divide by 100 โ€” no insulin is involved, the gradations are simply a convenient fine scale.
